Clinical Clerkship in Neuropathology

This course is aimed at introducing students to Neuropathology in a hospital setting. The emphasis will be to correlate neuropathological findings from autopsy and surgical material with clinical and neuroradiological data. The student will be expected to participate in all of the activities of the Divisions of Neuropathology at the Children's Hospital and Brigham and Women's Hospital, including Autopsy and Surgical Neuropathology, and give an oral presentation on a topic of current interest in Neuropathology.
Incorporation of Basic Science Content and Evidence-Based Medicine:
Regular clinical and research conferences include latest guidelines on practical, patient-related topics as well as scientific bases of neurologic disease.
Grade Criteria:
Honors with Distinction:
Exceptional quality presentation, fund of knowledge, interest, and professionalism.
Honors:
Good presentation, fund of knowledge, interest, and professionalism.
Satisfactory:
Level- appropriate understanding of material, preparation of presentation, and professionalism.
Unsatisfactory:
Poor attendance, interest, preparation, or professionalism.
