Core Subinternship in Pediatrics

Description:
The advanced pediatrics rotation is a sub-internship, where fourth year students will be assigned to one of the general pediatric teams at Children's and be expected to work with and as one of the pediatric interns. This involves direct and active participation in the entirety of a patient's hospital stay, including performance of the admission history and physical, writing of all patient care orders, communication with parents, consultants and referring providers and completion of all paperwork related to the discharge process. In addition, sub-interns will be expected to cross-cover other patients that they are not following primarily while they are on call. Call is in house, overnight call, every 4th night. Sub-interns will attend all teaching sessions that the housestaff attend while they are on service.
