Description:
The course is designed to teach fundamentals of diagnostic image interpretation and the clinical indications for imaging examinations and interventional radiology procedures. It is formally structured with didactic lectures, problem-based learning exercises, programmed audiovisual teaching seminars, algorithm tutorials, conferences, observation of film interpretation, observation of special procedures and computer workshops. Students spend two hours per day at self-study in the Radiology Learning Center reviewing MyCourses CD-ROM and internet radiology teaching programs. A lecture on basic principles of radiation therapy is given by a staff member of the Radiation Medicine Department. The students are also instructed in the downloading, storage and presentation of digital diagnostic images.
Evaluation:
Observation of performance, presentation and final examination.
