Core Clerkship Radiology

Offered: Full time for one month.
Time: 8:00 am, first day.
Location: DFCI, 44 Binney St, Radiology Med Student Ed, ML104A
Night Call: One evening until 10 pm.

Description:
The course is designed to teach the basic principles of radiological interpretation and utilization through small group instruction. Learning methods include audiovisual programs, lectures, film tutorials directed by staff radiologists, computer tutorials, self-learning film exercises and observation of clinical radiological interpretation. The indications and contraindications for radiologic examination and the benefits and limitations of radiological methods will be presented. Students must be present for the first and last day of the rotation, as well as the date scheduled for case presentations. Opportunities exist for clinical research in radiology, either during the advanced elective radiology elective or as separately sponsored by full-time radiology faculty. Evaluation:
Daily performance, case presentations and final computer and written examination.
